Made to Be Worn, Not Wasted
Susanne, founder and CMO (Chief Mom Officer) at home in Lyons, Colorado.
Hi, I’m Susanne, the founder of Foxlilie. I’ve always been passionate about protecting our environment. For a long time, I thought I was doing enough—recycling and making choices that felt accessible at the time. But I never thought to question my clothing: the materials, how it was made, or where it would end up.
Then I learned something that changed everything. The fashion industry sends roughly 85% of textiles to landfills, and as more brands turn to polyester—essentially plastic—that waste problem isn’t going away anytime soon. Fast fashion has trained us to buy clothes that are made quickly, worn briefly, and discarded before they ever have the chance to live a full life. On average, garments today last just 7 to 10 wears before breaking down. It’s not only devastating for the planet—it’s also left us with wardrobes that feel disposable, far removed from the quality and longevity clothing once offered.
Understanding the true impact of how our clothes are made became a turning point for me—and the beginning of Foxlilie. Clothing used to be crafted with intention and built to endure, but somewhere along the way, speed and cost replaced care and quality. That disconnect didn’t sit right with me. I knew there had to be a better way to create clothing—one that honored the people who make it, the women and kids who wear it, and the planet we all share.
“Understanding the true impact of how our clothes are made became a turning point for me—and the beginning of Foxlilie.”
Foxlilie was born from a simple idea: clothing that is stylish, functional, and made with care—for women, for kids, and for the planet. I wanted to create pieces that fit real life, last beyond a season, and don’t end up in a landfill. Inspired by the mountains and a lifestyle that values quality over excess, I design clothing to live in—fashion that feels as good as it looks.
Inspired by the mountains in Colorado we call home.
At the heart of Foxlilie is slow fashion. Unlike fast fashion, built on mass production, fleeting trends, and excess waste, slow fashion prioritizes thoughtful design, small-batch production, local craftsmanship, and sustainability. Every piece we make is handcrafted locally, designed to be timeless, and meant to be cherished—beautiful for you, and better for the planet.
Our mission is simple: to help you experience your wardrobe differently. By moving away from a disposable mindset, we can embrace an earth-conscious approach that feels easy, stylish, and guilt-free. Fashion doesn’t have to cost the planet, and Foxlilie is proof that it can be both beautiful and responsible.
Redefining how clothes are made with meaningful steps that honor people, product, and the planet—creating style with an outsized, earth-conscious impact. From responsible material sourcing to small-batch production, every decision is made with care and intention. By working closely with local makers, we’re able to maintain quality, reduce excess, and ensure that each piece is crafted to last.
This thoughtful approach allows us to create clothing that supports real lives and real values. Instead of chasing trends, we focus on timeless design, durability, and comfort—clothing that is meant to be worn often, loved deeply, and kept in your wardrobe for years to come. It’s our way of making fashion feel good again, for you and for the planet!
