Built to Endure, For You and the Planet

The vastness of the Rocky Mountains near Foxlilie’s home.

When I watched Artemis II and its crew of four astronauts circle the moon, looking back at Earth—our shared home, suspended in the vastness of space—I felt something I didn’t expect: a deep sense of awe and reverence.

It was a feeling mirrored by so many people, not just across the U.S., but around the world. For days, I found myself returning to that perspective—thinking about the scale of the universe, the fragility of life here on Earth, and the quiet, steady presence of the moon just beyond us. It brought into focus how connected we really are across distance and difference—how much we rely on one another, and on this planet, to sustain us.

And honestly, I needed that reminder.

This planet is our only home. Its beauty, its resilience, its life—they’re all intertwined with our own.

Lately, it hasn’t always been easy to feel connected to that sense of shared responsibility—for each other, and for the Earth. Instead, it can feel like the people and systems with the power to protect this planet aren’t prioritizing its care—or the wellbeing of those living on it. And yet, this is our only home. Its beauty, its resilience, its life—they’re all intertwined with our own.

As a business, and as a person, I’ve felt that tension. At its heart, Foxlilie has always been rooted in the belief that fashion can—and should—be part of something better: less reckless with the resources that sustain life on Earth, less wasteful, and more thoughtful. So it’s been difficult at times to watch the pace of harm accelerate in ways that feel at odds with those values.

The next generation, wearing the change, shaping a more thoughtful future.

Which is why hearing reflections from space—what astronauts often describe as the “overview effect”—felt grounding at a time when that sense of connection can feel distant. That shift in perspective matters, especially in moments of uncertainty. The realization of how small we are, and how rare and extraordinary this planet is. A reminder of how much there is to protect.

It felt like a gift I didn’t know I needed.

When I set out to build Foxlilie, I knew I wanted intention to be at the center—creating clothing that supports not just the person wearing it, but the world it’s made in. A move away from fast fashion’s cycle of overproduction and disposability, and toward something more enduring.

That’s why every piece is made in small batches, designed for longevity. Not to be worn a few times and forgotten, but to become part of your life—something you reach for again and again. Something that lasts.

Because caring for what we wear is, in its own way, a reflection of how we care for the world around us.

By prioritizing quality, thoughtful design, and responsible production, Foxlilie slows the cycle of waste—creating clothing meant to be worn, lived in, and loved.

For you, and for the planet
